Baan Nok Round Tray design

Design brief

Why it works.

People ordering takeaway want to see the food, know the price and how hot it is, then call. Put one dish at a time on a tray they can spin, name its price and heat, and keep Call to order in reach.

Why this layout

  1. 01

One dish fills the tray, so the food is the biggest thing on the page and each turn is a new close-up.

  2. 02

Spinning by drag, name, arrow or key turns browsing the menu into play, and the names on the rim show there are six to try.

  3. 03

The Fig. 1 card and the spice meter answer price and heat for the dish in front, and Call to order · 03 9000 0000 stays in the first screen (a sticky bar on phones).

Fits

  • Thai, Vietnamese, Indian or any takeaway with a short signature menu
  • Ramen, poke, salad or pizza shops that sell one bowl or plate at a time
  • Restaurants whose orders come by phone or one order link
